With all the unrest in the world, I thought it appropriate to remind people out there that some of us have been there before, seen it and done it. There are many tracks I could have chosen from that era but this one pretty much says it all. The video itself is simply brilliant and captures the mood of the time perfectly. The lyrics are simple but say exactly what they need to say - leave us alone!
I completely identified with the schoolboy in the classroom - that is exactly how it was for me at school, head down, cowering over my book, hoping that the big bad and mean nasty teacher would not single me out for treatment. It sucked more than you can imagine.
The culture, such as it was then, was very much keep your mouth shut and maybe we will leave you alone but that was the problem - they did not leave you alone, teacher and students alike found ways of tormenting some one some where for no good reason than they could and they enjoyed it.
Now, with the occupy protests going on, maybe the voice of that child and others like him will start to be heard, we just cannot take it any more! Listen up you fuckers from yesteryear, we are coming to claim what is ours!
